The Instant Expert

Instructions for the leader

This is a classic game for breaking the "expert" persona and teaching participants to maintain composure and authority. A participant is given a completely nonsensical topic (e.g., "The History of Invisible Pockets" or "The Migration Patterns of Dust Bunnies"). The goal is for them to speak for one minute with absolute authority and passion as if they are the world’s leading expert on the subject. This exercise decouples confidence from knowledge, teaching that "vibe" and "conviction" carry significant weight in communication. Once the one minute is up, the leader introduces the next expert and makes up a new topic for them to be an expert about.
