SpaceShip Takeoff

Instructions for the leader

Form lines of 10-15 participants sitting on the floor, waist-to-waist with feet wide, making close contact with your fellow space explorers. Play the high-energy track “Astro” by Toby Green. As the facilitator, join the front of a line and explain that each line is a spaceship and you're all astronauts. Cue “Accelerate!”: Everyone leans back as if speeding up. Cue “Hold on!”: Everyone holds on to the person in front of them. Cue “Asteroid field!”: Everyone bumps gently side-to-side. Cue “Evacuate!”: Everyone disintegrates by rolling on the floor, imagining they're floating off into space (optionally over others, with consent). Then they bounce into each other gently.
