Instructions for the leader

Activity: Choice-Based Inquiry Circle Divide participants into small groups of 4 and designate one volunteer to occupy the "Hot Seat" per round. Pre-Activity Guidance: Frame the activity around explicit consent and emotional agency. Remind participants that the Hot Seat occupant maintains absolute authority over their boundary level and may pass on any question without justification. Structure & Rules: Intensity Selection: The Hot Seat occupant explicitly chooses their question intensity level for the round: Mild (fun/light), Medium (thoughtful/personal), or Spicy (vulnerable/deep). Curious Inquiry: Group members take turns asking questions tailored strictly to the selected intensity level. Unconditional Pass: The Hot Seat occupant can say "Pass" to any question at any time. Timing: Allocate 4–5 minutes per Hot Seat occupant. Rotate roles so all 4 members experience the Hot Seat within a 20-minute window.
