Instructions for the leader

Start by helping everyone leave the outside world behind. Invite participants to close their eyes or soften their gaze. Guide them through a breath exercise and a moment of silence. This is also the moment to activate gratitude β€” through the Grounding Gratitude exercise below. The goal: a collective sense of presence and attention, signaling that the time in this space is sacred and separate from daily stressors. Arrange the group in a tight huddle β€” standing or seated β€” with everyone connected by touch (hands on shoulders, holding hands). Play ambient music (e.g. Garth Stevenson). Instruct participants to close their eyes and take slow, deep breaths. Model a deep breath and a sample gratitude thought to set the tone. Guide the group through the following visualizations over 3–5 minutes: Start with Fun. Use a funny phrase to lower the stakes: β€œImagine you’re a spiritual hippie with no worries or money for the next 5 minutes.” Receiving Gratitude. Invite them to visualize a moment where someone was truly grateful for them. Ask them to feel the warmth of that appreciation in their body. The Circle of Love. Prompt them to visualize the faces of everyone they love β€” friends, family, mentors, partners. Have them mentally "scroll" through these faces, acknowledging the unique impact of each relationship. Bringing It In. Finally, invite participants to take that feeling and set the intention to bring that gratitude into this room and into their interactions with the people physically present. Opening the Eyes. Slowly, ask your participants to open their eyes and make eye contact with other participants. Pace the reflections with gentle prompts: "See the face of a person who supports you... feel the weight of their love... now, bring that warmth into this circle."
