Galactic Heart Hug

Instructions for the leader

Gather 4-10 participants into a close, comfortable huddle. Instruct everyone to point one hand toward the center with their index finger extended so all fingertips touch. As they do this, announce, “Together, we form the galaxy.” Guide them to curl their fingers to connect all hands tightly. Say "This is our solar system." Then, have everyone extend their thumbs upward to meet in the middle. Explain, “At the center of our system, we create the sun.” Slowly raise the group's connected hands while narrating, “This light travels from the sun, through the vastness of space…” Once hands are high, instruct everyone to “sparkle” their fingers and continue, “…arriving as shimmering energy.” Tell the group, “This light reaches our world, filling every living cell with energy.” Then, guide them to first mime grabbing the sparkles from the air as you say, “Feel the light within you”, and then bring their hands to their chests as you say, “…Feel it in your heart.” With their hands at their hearts, ask them to open their eyes, open their fists, and share the light with everyone in the huddle through hand to hand contact, gentle smiles and meaningful eye contact.
