Car Wash

Instructions for the leader

Activity: Co-Created Sensory Validation Tunnel Form two parallel lines facing each other to create a wide "car wash" tunnel. Designate one participant at a time to act as the "car." Pre-Activity Guidance: Conduct a mandatory touch and consent check before starting. Explicitly state that touch must remain gentle, non-intrusive, and entirely respectful, and that any participant may opt out or choose to walk through without physical contact. Structure & Rules: Stationary Roles: Participants in the lines act as gentle components of a car wash (e.g., soft brushes, sprayers, or dryers). The Passage: The "car" walks slowly down the middle of the tunnel with eyes open or closed. Real-Time Feedback: The walking "car" can give real-time vocal feedback (e.g., "Gentler, please" or "Light touch only"). Timing: Allow 30–45 seconds per participant walk-through (~10–15 minutes total). Rotate until every consenting group member has experienced the tunnel.
